Heavy Bag Kickboxing at Freestyle Fitness Opens in Five Days!

Freestyle Fitness is PUMPED UP about the newest class on the schedule – Throwdown is a forty-five minute heavy bag butt-kicker, and it starts Tuesday, September 8. Unlike the other Freestyle classes, you’ll need to book your bag before class at fsfitness.net/bookabag. And that page will begin taking bookings THIS Friday, September 4. Yessss. Read on for all the details.

Tell me about the class.

It’s heavy bag kickboxing – eight three-minute rounds, including two focus mitt rounds. We’ll focus on upper body boxing, lower body kicking, combo rounds and tababa stuff thrown in for some old-fashioned resistance interval training. You’ll need gloves, some basic listening skills and a good attitude. We’ll provide the awesome instruction, heavy bags, focus mitts and beats.

Oh man, sounds rad. Can anyone take Throwdown?

Yes! Does any of the following apply to you?

  • You’re a boxer or martial artist (or just an admirer). Awesome, because this is a technique-driven class, so you’ll dig the focus on form, power and speed, respectively.
  • You’ve had a rough day at the office, or just need to hit something (safely and constructively, obviously). Then wail on these bags, and don’t worry – they don’t hit back.
  • You’ve been looking for a fun, fast workout that will boost endorphins, bust your stress and help you meet your fitness goals without boring you to death. Hey, perfect, meet Throwdown.

Awwwesome. So how do I book my bag?

Go to fsfitness.net/bookabag – just bookmark it in your browser – and choose your class. You can book a bag up to 72 hours before class, and you’ll get a confirmation email letting you know you’re good to go. Then you can breeze in right on time and get ready to get after it.

I seriously cannot wait. When does it start again?

First class is Tuesday night at 6:45 pm. Check out the schedule for the full line-up – we’ve added eight Throwdown classes to the schedule.
