Kelly Ries was a Freestyle Fitness staple back in the day, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back on the mic. Read on for an introduction/refresher on this fitness pro.
So, how did all begin? “My passion for health and fitness, coupled with my teaching background, led me to become a fitness instructor,” explains Kelly.
She earned a BS with a biology emphasis and a Masters in education at the University of Nevada, but Kelly will tell you herself that exercise is her true passion.
“It’s a big part of who I am,” she says. She taught cardio kickboxing and boot camp for six years here at Freestyle, and on her own time, she trains and runs half marathons and 10ks with friends and family.
“Staying fit and being a positive role model for my 11 year old twin daughters is important to me,” says Kelly.

“My goal as fitness instructor is to have those who exercise with me work hard, push themselves, and more importantly, to have fun and feel good about themselves while doing it,” says Kelly. That’s exactly what made her so great when she taught here the first time, and it’s why we were so excited to snap her up once again.
“No matter what the starting point, everyone has the ability to become the person that they desire, both physically and mentally through fitness training,” she says. “I am so excited to be back at Freestyle Martial Arts doing what I love – training and motivating individuals to be the best that they can be.”
Look for Kelly in our 6 am classes, and tell her how happy you are that she’s back!
