Did you see those hilarious pictures of the mom literally jumping for joy in front of her five kids, who are all wearing backpacks because summer’s over and it’s time to go back to school? We know lots of people are feeling all the same feels – and we get it. So as school starts again in what feels like the middle of summer, consider it an opportunity. As your kids go back to school, you can get back to you! No wonder that mom was jumping for joy.
We try to cater to parents dropping off the kiddos at school in the morning with early am and mid-morning classes. Hit up our Throwdown, Total Body and cardio kickboxing classes bright and early at 6 am – you’ll be home in time to pack lunches. If sunrise workouts aren’t your thing or you’re too pinched for time in the early morning, don’t fret. That’s why we have 9:45 am classes all week long (and one random 9:30!). Check us out for quick-and-dirty lunch time classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and even a 4 pm class on Wednesday. And if evening classes are more your speed, good news. We have oodles of them. Take a look at our schedule, and get some classes on your calendar!
Getting back to school makes getting back to you workable because of the routine it offers. If you’re buying groceries on the weekend so you can make lunches, make a plan for dinners during the week too. Get your prep work done on Sunday so you’re ahead of the game – it’s like a Jedi mind trick when your blood sugar drops and you’re three seconds away from picking up a pizza. You’ll think to yourself, “The veggies and meat are already prepped – I can whip this up in 30 minutes.” Boom!
We’ve written before about building healthy habits and the important of consistency to your fitness (and how to make it happen). So when the kids go back to school and you’re working around their busy little schedules, look at it as your chance to build a nutrition and fitness routine of your own. And remember to prioritize your workouts – they matter. It’s not just a body thing. Exercise is good for the mind and soul too.
Staying strong and healthy shouldn’t be an indulgence. Do what you can to make it happen, and enjoy the many, many rewards.
