We have no problem sharing all the reasons that Freestyle Fitness is a great place to train. There’s the great community, the awesome classes, the varied schedule, the instructors – good stuff, you know. But we realize that it’s probably more effective to hear what our members say about this place, which is why we like to share their stories and experiences. That’s what we’re doing right here, right now. Join us, and let’s see just how Freestyle fits in to the method and madness of our girl Jenny.
Way back in the spring of 2015, Jenny started hearing some talk about Freestyle Fitness from friends and the parents of her children’s classmates. “All these fit fun gals were talking about it,” she says. “I had gone through a move from Wyoming to Nevada, left my old gym, left my old friends, and got in a bit of a funk – sitting on the couch, feeling a little down, and eating whatever was convenient (ahem, my kids’ cheese-its, string cheese and quesadillas).”
Bummer, right? Well, read on!
“I signed up for a local gym because it had childcare, but then never went,” Jenny explains. “The childcare was iffy at best, and there was no good vibe going on there. So, after seeing how happy everyone was with Freestyle, I decided that eight weeks of a challenge was manageable, not to mention much more interesting looking than that huge gym full of standard treadmills, bikes, and weight machines. I could do anything for eight weeks, right?! I decided to give it a shot and had hopes of just making my body move again and getting the good mood juices flowing in my head.”
Jenny jumped in to the spring challenge, and she was a stand-out from the start. “I really did give it my all (EDITOR’S NOTE: I can totally attest to this – she was committed like nobody’s business),” she says, “and got on board with putting more effort into eating a balanced diet and kickboxing my booty off on a regular basis.
“I absolutely loved the feel and the energy at Freestyle, and it really helped me to have a place to go where I was never alone in my efforts. I cannot get on a treadmill everyday, but when there is a group of fun people and an amazing instructor there waiting for you to beat something up with them, it’s hard to say no.”
That is exactly it! This is what we’re saying!
But wait, Jenny’s not done. “For me, the class environment is what works as well as the total body approach,” she says. “I want my whole body to be strong, not just one area like so many workouts do. I became a member immediately following my challenge group because I wanted to keep the momentum going. I fell in love with the type of workout and the challenge that this place provided. It’s never easy but it’s always worth it, and I like that!”
So let’s get into some specific. Tell us, Jenny, what kind of changes did you notice after joining us?
She’s so glad we asked!
“For me, the changes have been tremendous,” Jenny says. “I am not so lazy! I have more energy, which seems counterintuitive because working out hard should make you tired, right? But I feel energized! My body is smaller and stronger and I feel more confident – not just because I feel like I look better, but because I feel like I could kick butt if I needed to! I can keep up with my two small kids and all of their activities aaaand still have time and energy for my husband when he gets home. My changes are positively impacting my entire family and I think that’s pretty cool.”
We think it’s AWESOME. So Jenny, are you getting all your friends to join or what?
“I would, and do, recommend Freestyle to anyone I like,” she says. “It feels good! It’s a happy place! It makes you feel strong and keeps you motivated to come back day after day! It’s fun to show up to a place and have the instructors be excited about class and to make friends that look forward to catching up with you before and after class. It’s the best “gym” environment I’ve ever been in. If someone is debating joining, I just tell them to try the free week! Come, work out, if you don’t love it than go back to your same old same old (but that is SO not gonna happen).”
And because we’re always going on and on about this amazing community we’re so proud of at Freestyle, check this out.
“Once I left class early,” Jenny says. “I had twisted my ankle and couldn’t keep going. Over the following couple of days, I had at least three of the instructors and several workout buddies get in touch with me to make sure I was ok. It’s a good feeling when people are kind.”
We love ya, Jenny!
