Reno’s best boot camp work out… Just the name sounds tough, right? Intimidating? At Freestyle Fitness, we do boot camp a little differently. The workout is tough, for sure, and some of the sets may be downright terrifying, but intimidation is not our thing. So what exactly makes our boot camp work outs so different? Let’s break it down.
We call it Total Body – because that’s exactly what it works – and depending on the instructor, the format is going to vary a bit in those sweaty 60 minutes. But the game plan is always the same – a mix of interval and strength training exercises using resistance bands, medicine balls, sand bags and your own body weight to max your muscles, crank your heart rate and get your blood pumping. We’re pushing those muscles to exhaustion, and when it’s all said and done, you’re going to feel amazing. Here’s a little sampling of a few rounds:
• Punching combos on the tall bags – jab, cross, hook, cross – for one minute, followed by one minute of decline push ups, feet on the base, to work that upper body.
• Super sets of resistance band squats and lunges followed by kick combos – roundhouse, front and back – on the tall bags to turn those legs into jelly.
• Partner sprints with resistance bands – ouch.
• Core circuit with medicine balls to lit a fire in your belly.
We’ve said it before – our members come from all walks of life, and that’s just how we like it. So whether you’re coming in off the couch or itching to see just how in shape you are, our Total Body boot camp classes are going to work. You. Out. For our beginners, modification is the name of the game. Our instructors will show you how to modify any exercise that’s out of your ability level – all you have to do is show up and put up.
So check out the schedule and come in for your free week. See you in class.
