The Fastest, Most Effective Workout in Reno

That’s the deal with the twenty-five minute workout at Freestyle Fitness. It’s interval training at its absolute finest, and we’re pretty sure it’s the fastest, most effective workout in Reno.

We call it Fighter Physique, and it’s billed as an MMA conditioning class – but don’t let that scare you. That just means there’s bag work, agility, strength training, core – all the good stuff, all packed nicely into less than half an hour. It’s structured as five five-minute rounds, with no instructor-led warm up or cool down. You’re on your own for that part, but our members don’t have any problems. Grab a jump rope to warm up, move through a few dynamic stretches, whatever works for you. The idea is a quick and dirty class where you can get in, get your sweat on, get our muscles working, get your heart pumping, and then get out and on with your day.

Interval training has long been praised as the best way to burn fat. It’s the ol’ sprinter/marathoner discussion, you know? Our class is a great mix of high-intensity intervals with resistance, and it’s over in 25 minutes. But don’t be fooled – it’s a serious workout. You get out what you put in, just like in any workout, so your intensity level is up to you, but if you’re working hard, you’re going to get a great workout.

You need MMA gloves for this class, and we provide heavy bags, ground bags, medicine balls and allllll the drills you need. Bring water and a towel to mop that sweaty brow, too.

First class is on the house, so talk a friend into joining you – it’s not half as scary when you have a wingman – check the schedule, show up a few minutes early to sign a waiver, and get ready to get hooked. After a few of our fighters, anything else just seems crazy inefficient.
