The Freestyle Fitness Challenge Has Begun!

better-together-challengers-2More than FIFTY new challengers are ready to be Better Together, and things are looking awesome right out of the gate! Fitness classes are packed with excited and – let’s be honest – kind of freaked out new challengers, but enthusiasm is high. Read on for a few tips for all those new faces.

1. Plan & Prep

At orientation, we discussed the importance of setting yourself up for success by planning your meals and doing a bit of prep work. Well, we’re repeating it here – make it easy on yourself and pick a day for meal planning/grocery shopping/food prep. One of the challengers from our last challenge summed it up:

“Prep day has made my life so much easier, I can’t believe I didn’t do this before! I’m saving more money on groceries and I’m not stressing over dinner every night while eating healthy… TOTAL WIN!!”

Don’t limit the planning to your meals alone. Take a look at the fitness schedule and your own calendar side by side. Then schedule your workouts just as you would any other appointment. Go ahead and add them to your calendar with a little e-reminder if you need it. The next eight weeks are going by no matter what – get your workouts in.

2. Be Consistent

Our most successful challengers have the same mantra – Come. To. Class. They do whatever it takes to get their classes in every single week. And you should too. Nearly all of you took advantage of the buddy discount, which means you have built-in training partners. Use them! Lean on them for motivation and encouragement. Post on our locked Facebook page which classes you’ll be attending – it’s called accountability, and it makes a difference.

You should be SO proud for signing up. Our fitness challenges aren’t easy – you signed up for eight weeks of work and clean eating and sweat and probably some tears. This isn’t a holiday. But the pay-off is so, so sweet. Be proud of yourself for stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a positive step in that journey to healthy living.

4. Ask for Help

Our instructors are trained to offer modifications. You can pull an instructor aside before or after class if there’s something specific they should know about you, but look for modifications being cued in class as well.

5. Hydrate!

Lots of water, guys. Drink it down.

You guys are awesome, and we’re so pumped to be part of this journey with you. And hey – if you have friends or family members who are kicking themselves for passing on this challenge, they can still get in on the action with a FREE WEEK of fitness classes. We’ll see you guys on the mats.
