A Surefire, 30-Day Way to Up Your Game

freestyle-fitness-holidaze-30-day-fitness-challengeA wise women once said, “Cross-training is where it’s at.” Ignore the bad grammar if you can, because the statement couldn’t be more accurate. Whether you like to run, lift, spin or take on those muddy endurance races, this is a surefire, 30-day way to up your game. Intrigued? Read on.

Changing up your routine pays off in spades – you’ll see it in a faster mile, better numbers on that bike, heavier weights in the gym and more endurance on that muddy half pipe. So that’s one benefit of joining 30 Days to the Holidaze, our next 30-day fitness challenge. But there’s more.

  • It’ll work with your schedule

We have 30 fitness classes every week, with early and mid-morning, noon, afternoon and evening time slots. Pick your poison – five five-minute rounds in our crazy intense Fighters Physique, an MMA-inspired conditioning class, eight three-minute rounds on the heavy bag in Throwdown, non-contact HIIT kickboxing or classic boot camp. And don’t forget yoga! It’s a really great selection designed to work out your body and mind.

  • It’s nice to be rewarded

Incentives are motivating, right? And getting something nice for doing something hard can help you stick it out when the going gets tough. So hit 24 classes in 30 days, and boom – a free month of unlimited fitness classes. You can do it!

  • It’s not just about the exercise

Here are more words to live by – you can’t out-train a bad diet. So all of this exercise, all of these classes (24 of them, remember?) are important, but here’s the most important part:  a solid, simple, tasty, no-brainer meal plan designed by our fave nutritionist, Gina Gilbert-Green.

To summarize: you’re a runner/cyclist/crazy endurance obstacle addict and you’ve hit a plateau, or you’re in the middle of training, or you’ve just been doing this for a while. Why would you join a 30-day fitness challenge and change things up so drastically?

i-love-cross-trainingWe’ll let Brandi, a former challenger-turned-Freestyle-member share why.

In 2014, she spent five months training for the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey with a really great, well-known local trainer. Her mile times during the race were around 10 minutes.

In 2015, while she was training at Freestyle during an eight-week fitness challenge, she was talked into running just a few days before race day.  Her mile time during the race? Eight and a half minutes. She improved her mile time by 90 seconds not by running, but through building muscle, agility, speed and endurance. Guess where those are emphasized? Yep – our fitness classes.

Thirty days to shake things up and clear your mind before the holidays? What’s there to think about?

Reserve your spot now – 30 Days to the Holidaze starts Sunday, October 23 at 10 am.
